About Our School

Safeguarding

At Bracken Edge Primary School we are committed to safeguarding, and promoting the welfare and wellbeing of all our children and adults.

We believe that school should be a place where children feel safe, valued and listened to. We recognise that some children may be especially vulnerable which can impact on other children either directly or indirectly. We always take a considered and sensitive approach so that we can support all of our children and families.

Everyone working in our school has the responsibility and understands their roles and duties in the effective safeguarding and protection of every child in our care. We aim to identify children and young people who are suffering or likely to suffer from significant harm, and take appropriate action with the aim of making sure they are kept safe both at school and home. Our priority is to provide a safe environment for children and young people, enabling them to learn develop to their fullest potential.

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.

Leaders have created a culture where staff are encouraged to pass on any concerns, no matter how small. Consequently, pupils and their families have access to early help and support when needed.

Staff understand the important role they play in ensuring that pupils are safe. Staff know what to look for because of the regular training and updates they receive about child protection,

Pupils told inspectors they feel safe in school. They told inspectors that they are confident to talk to an adult if they have any concerns.
